Once again, this months photo isn’t exactly ‘kite-surfing’, but is another twist on the whole sport. It just goes to show how kiteboarding crosses over so many territories, and why it has the potential to be bigger than all other board sports combined: windsurfing, wake boarding, snowboarding, skateboarding, and... land-boarding.
And This Month's Photo...
Kite land-boarding - all it requires is a beefed up skateboard, some smooth dirt (like a beach or salt plain), and your favorite kite. It bridges the gap between water and snow, and helps to make kiteboarding that much more diverse.
However, let’s not take a lesson from this picture and make sure that we have all the proper safety equipment before heading out. The ability to launch yourself 30 feet into the air over solid ground (and probably a rock or two) should never be taken lightly; done wrong, and it’s game over... so make sure you’re properly geared up!
Do you have a photo that absolutely trumps this one? How about one that captures the true beauty of kiteboarding? Or even one that is just plain fun?! If so, I'd love to give it a chance to be the next Photo of the Month – just send it to
In the Works...
