The dreaded kitemare - it’s a nightmare-like experience that happens while kiteboarding. They aren’t good, and no one wants to go through one yet beginners and pro's alike have them.
Even though we do everything in our power to prevent it, they still happen, and that’s nothing to feel bad about. Here’s why...
The truth is, these types of incidents aren’t all bad. In fact, your own personal experience is a fantastic opportunity to learn - something went wrong, and that is something we all can learn from. Whenever you have a bad experience, transform it into a powerful learning opportunity by asking this one question:
What went wrong, and how do I keep it from happening again?
Even though it might be hard to ask, this question puts a positive spin on all of our experiences. It transforms a bad experience into an evolutionary one - one that helps make us better! In the end, these ‘bad’ experiences aren’t so bad after all.
What’s the one thing that is better than one kitemare? 10,000! What I am saying is, if we can learn from 1 bad experience, we can learn more from 10,000. The best part is we don’t need to live through 10,000 incidents ourselves, since we can learn just as much from the experiences of others. That is how we can really benefit from our bad experiences!
If you have a kitemare of your own that you would like to share, please do! Real life stories are extremely powerful learning tools, and we all love to hear them.
Your story will be featured on a dedicated page in this website.
We're redesigning the site, and it's almost complete! If you find something that looks strange, or a link that doesn't work, please let us know using this form.
We should have all the kinks worked out soon, but it's nice to know if we missed something.. Thanks!
