The Kitemare - Share and Learn

Tropical Storm Faye Kitemare

The dreaded kitemare - it’s a nightmare-like experience that happens while kiteboarding. They aren’t good, and no one wants to go have one. But the truth is, whether big or small, every one has a kitemare at some point.

Sometimes they can be entertaining, other times they can be devastating. But at all times it's important to learn from them. Here's a collection of researched and shared kitemares, and the lessons learned...

A Few Kitemares...

They Have Some Good in Them

Even though they're best to avoid, you can still learn from your bad kite experience. Something went wrong, and you can learn from that. Just ask yourself:

What went wrong, and how do I keep it from happening again?

Even though it might be hard to ask, this question can take a bad experience and make you a better and safer kiteboarder.

Learn from Others

Learning from the expereinces of others (good and bad) can take a lot of time and frustration off your learning curve. The real reason I have put these stories on this page (and asked others the share theirs) is so that we can learn without making the same mistake ourselves. If you have a kitemare or experience to share, please do so below - we all appreciate the feedback.

Do You Have a Kitemare that You Would Like to Share?

If you have a kitemare of your own that you would like to share, please do! Real life stories are extremely powerful learning tools, and we all love to hear them.

Your story will be featured on a dedicated page in this website.
